Absences from the ranks neroverdi are so numerous that Mr. Pollinigson can contare "solo" su quindici effettivi, tra cui i valorosi precettati dell’ultima ora Tauro e Ragogna: praticamente un record in negativo! La gara viene compromessa nella prima frazione di gioco da un paio di amnesie difensive su altrettanti calci piazzati: due colpi di testa sotto misura, uno sul secondo palo (in sospetta posizione di off-side ) ed uno sul primo e si va negli spogliatoi con due peri sul groppone ed un pizzico di nervosismo. Gustoso siparietto nell'intervallo con Pollini che, dopo la malaugurata ed infelice uscita nel pre-partita ( «Oggi possiamo fare il salto di qualità!» ), rasserena gli animi con una esternazione - accompagnata da una grassa e prolungata risata - che testimonia la sua incrollabile confidence in the possibility of reversing the result ( "So much the better guys, if we went to class do
