The painting is part of "Is This Thing On" (January 7 to 29, Melrose & Venice, Los Angeles) event co-sponsored by the FunnyOrDie website, a tribute to the faces of the most interesting comedy of yesterday and today. Over 100 artists in a collective art exhibition hosted by Gallery 1988, have portrayed their favorite comedians with various techniques, from illustration to sculpture.
well-known names abound - Woody Allen, Bill Cosby, Bill Murray, Paul Reubens, Steve Martin, Jim Carrey - but there have been tributes to contemporary directors and actors, including Ben Stiller, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Zach tribute to Belushi and Mel Brooks in the miniatures of Jason D'Aquino Galifianakis, Tracy Morgan, Sarah Silverman (the full list here) and usually many faces of the "Frat Pack".
Over all, worth seeing fantastic miniatures of Jason D'Aquino on various media (including vintage boxes of matches) dedicated to the unforgettable actors of Frankenstein and John Belushi. Many have chosen icon Animal House Blues Brothers and, alongside other tutelary deities such as Mel Brooks, Lenny Bruce, Andy Kaufman.
The works are almost all for sale: the original and prints, more accessible.
